Trip to the E.R.

Tuesday mornings in our house are the busiest mornings of the week. Logan has to be at therapy by 8:15 and the girls have school at 8:30. Neil usually gets the girls taken care of and I get Logan and myself ready and out the door! However, yesterday was not our "normal" Tuesday by any means! Neil had picked up an extra shift, the girls had picture day, and Logan had therapy... As we were rushing around to get everyone ready Logan decided to give his big sister a hug... When he jump up to give her a bear hug they both fell over and Hailey landed on his neck. He was unable to move his head w/out screaming/crying. My husband (who is a paramedic) evaluated him a couple times and then felt it was necessary to call 911. Logan and I went by ambulance to the ER. He was a big boy! He had 8 x-rays done...thankfully, nothing is broken. His mucles and ligaments were strained/sprained by his spine. We are alternating Tylenol and Ibuprofen (which is extremely difficult bc it is NOT corn-free...but the chewables have a lot less corn). He is doing quite a bit better today...still sore, but on the mend! :)

My sweet boy being held still by all of that velcro!

Logan with the collar and his crazy hair. So glad my handsome boy is okay!

Where have we been?

HELLO THERE! :) Time got away from me...I just kept thinking "I will blog tomorrow, I am SO tired!" and now it's been well over a week since my last blog! We had therapies, dr's appointments, family time, etc!

A look into this past week:

  • Logan's PT went well. He was re-evaluated and he has gained some range of motion in his feet/ankles! A few degrees, but never-the-less progress!
  • He also was re-evaluated on the pressure mat to see how he has improved...we will get those results in a few weeks.
  • He is now in "Lap Club" which is a swim team! His first meet was this past Thursday and he rocked! I was so proud of him!
  • I do NOT get "mother of the year!" I completely FORGOT my camera for his FIRST swim meet. I was sooooo bummed out!!!
  • He is enrolled in T-Ball...they start on May 3!
  • Friday night we met Grandma L. for a night of Yatzee fun @ her work... He was really good up until we got ready to leave and then proceeded to throw a HUGE tantrum! Quite embarrassing!
  • We stopped by Grandma and Grandpa H's to visit with them! We had fun visiting and catching up!
  • Saturday we had a movie night... We (ALL 5 OF US!) curled up on the couch and watched "Yogi Bear" w/out cell phones or computers and had some MUCH NEEDED cuddle time!
  • Sunday we went we attempted to go to church, however, Logan was in a MOOD! He threw yet another tantrum and I took him home! Daddy went back so that him and the girls could enjoy it. I stayed home with "Mr. Grumpy" and we laid down for an early nap!
  • We went to the park and had a playdate with Jetta and Jayden! He just loves those girls!
  • We have been cooking away and trying new things...this past week we did cereal bars, pita pizzas (that Logan could have), new flavors of smoothies, and a few other things!
  • Logan's behavior has been "rocky" this past week...however, he is also coughing and I think his allergies and asthma are bothering him. He has an appointment on the 26th. I have called them twice this past week.
  • We used his rescue inhaler 3 times which is A LOT for him! He really, really needed it after swimming!
  • He is STILL waking up and coming into our room in the middle of the night...hence the reason I have been SO tired!

I think that pretty much sums it up! Tomorrow we go back to PT and OT. He will be swimming in PT and finishing up his paper mache in OT! The girls don't have school this Friday so we are praying for NICE weather!!! :) Hope you all enjoy your week!!!

Children's Museum!

Indianapolis Children's Museum Mini-Vaca:

We had a wonderful trip to the museum. The kiddos were fabulous! Great memories, great behavior! There are some pictures to follow...The best way to show and tell about our day!

Logan very excited to be on our way! Equipped with plenty of "stuff" to entertain him on the drive!

Digging for dinosaur bones... Future archaeologist/paleontologist right here! :)

Stopped for a picture...you may notice he has learned to "fake" smile. Ha!

Logan and his sisters: Hailey in the middle, Emily on the far right.

Practicing being "Prince Charming" before going to the play "The Frog Prince."

This was Logan's FIRST play and he LOVED it! He sat so well!

Prince Logan and Princess Hailey at the castle! After the play he had his picture taken with all of the cast members...He is STILL talking about it today!

"Gwinny" the good witch. Logan LOVED her wand!

Logan with the princess who was beautiful, but not so nice...the moral of the story was "Never judge a book by its cover!"

Logan with Sir Lancealot Prancealot and his helper Arthur.

The Frog Prince.

The Princesses Maid...she was nice to the frog and ended up turning him into a prince!

Logan with Diego! Go Diego Go!

Logan at the water table...catching fish with his fish face! :)

Climbing the rock wall...Miss Deb (PT) and Miss Krista (OT) would be proud of him!

He thought this was just to look at...and when I told him he could get on it he got the BIGGEST smile!

Our sweet Emily...Logan's Big Sister!

Our sweet Hailey...Logan's big sister and partner in crime! Lol! We get told they look like twins ALL.THE.TIME! There is a 2 yr age difference.

Our little egyptian.

"Mommy, take my picture!"

Being a good boy and playing with the sand nicely!

I would highly recommend that if you are in or around Indy to take a day and stop by the museum! We have been there quite a few times...usually try to go once a year so that the exhibits are different! Right now they have a HUGE "Transformer" in the main lobby and also a pretty neat "Barbie" exhibit!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

 Getting a little more messy!
Doing such a good job getting sticky!

Cleaning up his hands! Our 3 month goal is to get messy without the need to constantly wash/wipe off hands!

Sickness out...Vitamins In!

It feels like it's been forever since the last time I blogged! Logan's behavior is better, but we are dealing with the wonderful sinus infections in our house. I am pretty sure that the behavior was the precursor to the sickness. I was hoping the antibiotics would kick it, but no luck so far. Must be viral! Logan has been sick off and on (although not contagious) since last Monday. In the past 4 days he has made up his own sleeping schedule which includes: napping 3-4 times a day and staying up all night. I feel like I have a newborn again. I forgot what sleepless nights were like!!! :)

I don't really have much to post because he has slept, missed therapy, and been super clingy.

This past Wednesday we went to Takaoka (a Japanese restaurant here in Fort Wayne, IN) to celebrate Emily's b-day and surprised her...little did we know that this was not the surprise she would have preferred. I just thought she was going to be soooo excited once we got there...FAIL! On the other hand, LOGAN LOVED IT! He seriously ate more food than his sister's and I put together! He was amazed that the chef was cooking right on our table...and he let it be known where HE will be celebrating his birthday! This was great bc it was all stuff (for the most part) that he could eat. I am almost positive he will be an awesome chef one day...his love for food and cooking is amazing.

We (hopefully) will resume therapy on Tuesday, however, Miss Deb will be out of town! Lucky her! We hope that she has a fabulous vacation! She deserves it!

Take care!!! I am sure there will be pics to follow tomorrows party!

Love,
Autumn
